Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
Taught with Python in Excel — no Minitab licence needed
A full DMAIC Green Belt, with the statistics running in Excel with Python instead of behind a licence your team has to request and renew.
Syllabus
Foundations
- Introduction to Lean Six Sigma: history, principles, the eight wastes, value chain, sigma and variation
- Introduction to Python in Excel for non-programmers: pandas, matplotlib, seaborn and scipy.stats
- Basic statistics: distributions, normality testing, describing what the data actually says
Define
- Problem and business case, project charter, scope
- Customer requirements and choosing a KPI that can actually track progress
Measure
- Data collection plan: what data the problem needs, and how to get it without bias
- Measurement system analysis and Gage R&R — is the gauge or the process making the variation?
- Process capability: what the process is genuinely able to deliver against specification
Analyse
- The process door: value stream mapping, waste and flow analysis at the gemba
- The data door: graphical analysis, time series, histograms, Pareto, box plots and scatter plots
- Correlation, hypothesis testing and regression to confirm cause and effect rather than assume it
Improve
- Generating and selecting solutions, creativity techniques, Kaizen events
- Piloting, validating and planning implementation
